G Vivekanandan Memorial Calligraphy Award 2023

This is a first-of-its-kind, distinguished calligraphy accolade established in honour of the renowned writer, G Vivekanandan. This year onwards, the family members of the late writer intend to commemorate his profound literary legacy, by instituting this recognition, which comes with a cash award and a certificate.

Organized in collaboration with the Typography Society of India, esteemed calligrapher Narayana Bhattathiri, and the KaChaTaThaPa Foundation, this competition aims to inspire and celebrate the creative spirit of the young minds in our nation.

Open to all Indian students under the age of 20.

Theme: Jai Hind

  • The focal theme for this year’s writing competition is “Jai Hind”. Participants are encouraged to showcase their artistic prowess through calligraphy, by writing the two words “Jai Hind” in any Indian language through calligraphy.
  • The artwork dimensions: 12 inches in both width and height, forming a perfect 12-inch square.
  • Each participant may submit up to four distinct artworks.
  • Use of any tools, paper, and ink are welcome

Submission Guidelines

  • Individuals can send up to four entries.
  • Entries should be accompanied by a copy of the individual’s Aadhaar Card.
  • A duly filled submission form accessible on our official website is mandatory.
  • Submissions lacking these essential documents will be disqualified.
  • Digital copies will not be entertained.
  • Participants are expected to meet the expenses for delivering the entries.
  • Submitted artworks will not be returned.
 

Intellectual Property and Legalities

  • Participants are responsible for addressing any disputes concerning the intellectual property rights of their entries.
  • In case of any legal conflicts linked to intellectual property rights, the organizers will not bear any liability.
  • By submitting their entries and signing the entry form, participants affirm that they possess the requisite intellectual property rights for their creations sent for this award.
 

Submission Deadline and Exhibition

  • All submissions must reach the designated address no later than September 25.
  • A panel of esteemed judges will assess the entries, and selected artworks will be showcased at the International Calligraphy Festival in Kochi, scheduled from October 2-5, 2023.
