G Vivekanandan Memorial Calligraphy Award 2026

This is a first-of-its-kind and distinguished calligraphy award established in honour of the renowned writer, G Vivekanandan. The family members of the late writer intend to commemorate his profound literary legacy by instituting this award, which includes a cash prize and a citation.

Organised in collaboration with the esteemed calligrapher Narayana Bhattathiri, the KaChaTaThaPa Foundation, and the Typography Society of India, this competition aims to inspire and celebrate the creative spirit of the younger generation.

This competition is open to everyone under the age of 30.

Theme: Diversity of India

The focal theme for this year’s calligraphy competition is “Diversity of India.” Participants are encouraged to showcase their artistic prowess through calligraphy, expressing the diversity of India in any Indian language.

The use of any tools, paper, and ink is welcome.

Submission Guidelines

  • Individuals may submit up to four entries.
  • Entries should be accompanied by a copy of the participant’s Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or Passport.
  • A duly completed submission form, available on our official website, is mandatory.
  • Submissions lacking these essential documents will be disqualified.
  • Digital copies and prints will not be accepted.
  • Participants are responsible for all expenses related to the delivery of their entries.
  • Submitted artworks will not be returned.

Intellectual Property and Legalities

  • Participants are responsible for addressing any disputes concerning the intellectual property rights of their entries.
  • In the event of any legal conflicts related to intellectual property rights, the organisers will not bear any liability.
  • By submitting their entries and signing the entry form, participants affirm that they possess the requisite intellectual property rights to the works submitted for this award.

Submission Deadline and Exhibition

All submissions must reach the designated address no later than September 22, 2026.

A panel of esteemed judges will assess the entries, and selected artworks will be showcased at the International Calligraphy Festival in Kochi, scheduled from October 2–5, 2026.

The decision of the jury panel will be final.
